I have lived in my house for over 50 years and I don’t want to start changing now.  This is where me an my wife raised our kids and this is where I plan to stay.

HOME CARE AS A LIFE PLAN

Home care is an alternative to living in a facility.  Over 90% of older people say that they would prefer to live in their home as long as possible.  Each individual has their own reasons for wanting to stay in their home.  At home they can go to the same church, keep the dog they love, mind their garden and flower bed, and visit the same neighbors.  In their own home they know that there is room for all of their furniture and everything else that has become so meaningful over the years.

Inevitably with age, help is eventually needed. Following are the services All For You Home Care provides that help people stay at home as long as possible.

TYPES OF HOME CARE

Companion Care
All For You Home Care provides companion care for older people who are capable of managing there daily life tasks, but are in need of companionship to live a full life.  Our companion care program provides services to combat isolation, depression and loneliness.  This can be especially common after someone have lost a spouse. Companion care is a good choice for bringing new interests to the older person’s life. This care includes such things as playing cards, going to lunch, going to sports events, going to a movie, organizing family photos, shopping, and going on trips.  Companion care is anything that adds fun and meaning to life.

Home Assistance
When an older person needs some extra help to manage regular household tasks, our home assistance program would be a good fit.  Our home assistance program includes light housekeeping, meal preparation, and errands.

Light Housekeeping
With All For You Home Care, light housekeeping tasks are what people typically do on a daily and weekly basis.  Services include laundry, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, wiping and cleaning floors, changing linens, cleaning the kitchen, cleaning the bathrooms, straightening the living room, cleaning the dining room and the client’s bedroom.  Light housekeeping can also include outside activities like watering plants.

Meal Preparation
With All For You Home Care, meal preparation includes planning meals, grocery shopping, and cooking healthy meals and snacks.  The meals follow all special dietary guidelines prescribed by the physician or dietitian.  The meals follow the preferences and recipes preferred by the senior we are serving.

Errands
With All For You Home Care, errands can also be provided.  Examples of errands include, shopping, going to the dry cleaner, picking up medicine, transportation to and from the doctor or dentist’s office, and making appointments.  We are delighted to do any errands that the older person chooses.

Personal Care

Bathing
We provide services to help the older person maintain their personal hygiene.  This category includes helping the older person take a bath or shower using any necessary equipment.  In the case that the senior is unable to take a bath or shower, bathing includes giving a sponge bath.  Whatever the situation, the purpose of this task is to do whatever it takes to make sure that the older person is clean and comfortable.

Transferring
In some cases, the older person may need assistance with transferring from one situation to another. With All For You Home Care, this includes helping transfer the senior from the bed to a chair, from a wheelchair to a car, from one chair to another. This also includes assisting the senior to stand from a sitting position and periodic repositioning in bed.

Dressing and undressing
We provide help with dressing and undressing. This would be from bed clothing to street clothing and back, assisting with everything from underwear to outerwear.

Help with walking and mobility
This includes being able to stabilize and support the senior when walking or using a cane, walker or wheelchair.

Help with eating
This includes helping the older person when they have difficulty with using utensils or other dishes.

Help with Incontinence
Sometimes people have difficulties with incontinence.  Our caregivers are skilled at helping with all toileting and incontinence issues that may arise.

Medication Reminders
Many older people have medications that are important to take on a regular schedule.  One of the services that we provide is medication reminders.  We ensure that seniors take all medications according to the prescribed times and in the prescribed manner.

Safety

  • Some seniors need reminders to do basic safety tasks like putting on a seat belt, or being careful when crossing the street.
  • Some seniors need to be assisted with using the cane or walker or wheelchair appropriately.
  • Sometimes an older person will need to be re-directed from dangerous or inappropriate behaviors.
  • Some older people are at risk of falling.  We provide home safety and physical support to eliminate falling.
  • Some seniors tend to wander. We provide supervision to make certain the older person does not wander away.  This can be a major concern and will be addressed based on the situation.
