Katherine is 86 years old and lives in Carmichael California. She is a cancer survivor. When she lost her husband many years ago she started living alone in her two level home. When she fell on the stairs and broke her arm. her doctor told her that she could not go home without 24 hour home care. Although she did not want to have anyone else in her home, she said, “As long as I don’t have to leave my home I will do anything I have to”. Although Katherine could still do most everything for herself, there remained the concern that she would fall. Over time, Katherine became very attached to one of her caregivers and realized that she really liked having the caregiver in her home and didn’t want her to leave. Her son lived far away and when he came to visit he was amazed and relieved to see that his strong minded mother had changed her mind and now wanted to have help in her home.
Katherine says,
“I’m very independent and I don’t want that to change. But now, I know that I need home care for the rest of my life. I am no longer so ‘hard headed’ that I will fall again. If these people (All For You Home Care) were not so terrific, I probably would never have learned how much I like them being with me. If you try to take my caregivers, I will have to adopt them.”
Her grandson says,
‘You are heads above all of the other companies. You make everything work!. Best of all, you make my grandmother happy.”
